The following discourse has been translated into English from Bhagavan's Telugu speech as heard on this festival's ashram audiocassette. It is a complete, literal translation made with the objective of preserving Bhagavan's precious original poetic style as much as possible.
DISCOURSE BY SRI SATHYA SAI BABA
Ladies Day
November 19th, 2002

The entire universe is shining with God.
The universe is emerging from God.
The friendship of the universe and God is something that cannot be separated.
Hear, oh valorous son of Bharath!
(Telugu poem)

THE SACRED LAND OF BHARATH
Embodiments of Love!
From ancient times, the land of Bharath proclaimed infinite kindness and good character. This land of Bharath is the birthplace of spirituality, acquisition of character, charity and Dharma. It is the mother-in-law’s house for good fortune and Peace. It is the land of Bharath, isn't it, that made all efforts to recognize the character of Truth from ancient times. The land of Bharath gave the ideal of a mutual, convenient and ideal life.
There is no other country that excels the land of Bharath in proclaiming Truth. Numerous people progressed on the spiritual path in the land of this Bharath. The land that Sri Rama ruled over is this land of Bharath. The country that Sri Krishna taught the Bhagavad Githa is this land of Bharath. This land is where Vyasa organized the Vedas and undertook propagating and teaching them. It is this country, the land of Bharath, where Valmiki wrote the Ramayana and taught Truth and Righteousness to the country.
It may be said that such a sacred land is not present anywhere else. Though being born in such a sacred land of Bharath and being called Bharatiyas, men of today are hesitant to undertake the propagation and teaching of such a good and auspicious Bharath. Therefore, people who were born in such a land of Bharath should develop, worship, practice and convey (to others) the culture of Bharath.
The air that is inhaled in the land of Bharath is full of Truth. The soil that rises up below the feet has the character of Dharma. Truly if it is inquired into, there is greatness in the Bharatiyas. The land made up of soil, the land that is inert in this land of Bharath, is transformed into a sacred jewel. The life of Bharatiyas is a life of forbearance. The Ganga that flows in the land of Bharath, is a river of Love.
How did the valuable land of Bharath, the residence of such Truth, Dharma, Peace and Love, change today? From ancient times, this land of Bharath gave so many types of ideal stories to the country.

In the supremely sacred land of Bharath,
forbearance is the beauty for us.
Out of all the rituals,
adhering to great Truth
is the most difficult penance.
What is more venerable than the motherland?
(Telugu poem)

In such a sacred land of Bharath, it is patience which is our character of Truth. Peace only is our protective shield. Though we are born in such a sacred land of Bharath, you (P) can imagine how foolish it is that even today we are unable to protect the culture of this land.

WHO WILL TAKE CARE OF THE HOME?
However, young men and women have to study education. Higher education should be learnt. The ideals in that education should be spread to the world. Yet, we should not study all of this education for the sake of jobs. One should teach the culture of Bharath to the people in many ways. The subject of the development of this culture should be extensively spread.
However, although today’s men students and women students are studying this education, they are not thinking about giving an ideal. They are only using this education for temporary conveniences but are not studying education with the aim of experiencing the true and eternal culture of Bharath.

If all the youth go to work by going to the office, they become desperate.
If both husband and wife go to the office, where is the housewife who looks after the tasks of the home?
If one goes to school to teach other’s children,
where is the mother to teach her own children?
If both husband and wife go to the office, where is the housewife who looks after the works of the home?
If one holds books in the hand and goes (out to work) like men, where is the woman to look after the kitchen?
When there is so much dearth (domestic problems)
in the house, will they be resolved
as money resolves (financial problems)?
If one looks for happiness in a job, one will not find it even if she is in a high position.
(Swami sings a Telugu poem)

Being educated, women are competing with each other today. There is no fault in doing a job. It is not wrong. However, the situation of the house also has to be recognized and then one should enter the job.

If all youth go to do jobs,
where is the woman to look after the kitchen?
(Telugu poem)

We should also recognize the situation of the house and act accordingly.

If both husband and wife go to the office, where is the mother who will foster the children?
(Telugu poem)

Due to the mother who looks after the children not being in the house, the children fall to bad ways and are spoiled.

Clutching books and going about like a man,
where is the housewife who will
look after the works of the home?
If one goes to school to teach other’s children,
where is the mother to teach her own children?
(Telugu poem)

Through these jobs and the desire for money the necessities of the house may be resolved, but what bad ways will her children fall into? Due to the mother and father not being in the house, there is a chance that the children will fall on the bad path and become spoiled.
Therefore, first and foremost we should teach the children our education. Only when the children are developed, then the matter of your (P) education will be understood. Education is there to prove the true power of the individual. In this way, so many ideals are observed by us to recognize the Dharma of women and act accordingly.

MOTHERS WHO GIVE SUCH IDEALS
Leela (Rajeswari) Patel said that in the world, women fostered so many types of culture and through that culture, their lives were defined as ideals. Hence, it is taught what ideals Savitri and others gave. In those days women looked after the tasks of the house and fostered the house. They defined a proper ideal to the children, practised it and gave a suitable ideal to their children.
However, today mothers who give such ideals have decreased a lot. As soon as they take a degree, they apply for jobs. Then what will be the fate of the children in their homes? If a mother brings up even one child, that would give a great help to the country. What is the use if she works at a job and earns a lot of money, when her children cling to a bad path?
Hence, first and foremost the house should be looked after. Suitable opportunity should be given to do well the tasks of the house. However, educated women of today go to work while hiring a cook and a worker. The salary that comes is just enough to pay the cook and the worker. One has to think what kind of path the child falls to afterwards.

Harischandra was fully, perfectly
and always adhering to Truth.
Did he not leave the world?
(Telugu poem)

Chandramati was so educated, first and foremost she fulfilled her duty as a mother and followed her husband. When he became a little weak, she taught him courage. She said, “O King, you are an emperor. You have good intelligence. You are educated. Such a one as you shouldn’t give place to weakness. We are proceeding in life on the path of Truth. We are flowing in the river of Truth. If it is our fate, we will reach the shore. Otherwise, we will be drowned. Only this but it is not our determination to go back.” So, the women of those days were ones who even taught such courage to their husband.
The women of Bharath protected the culture of Bharath in such a sacred way. Without filling her eyes with tears, Sita demonstrated an ideal life to others in every situation. Even though she was caught by demons, she wasn’t afraid or disheartened. She fostered the virtues of her husband. Because she was the wife of Rama, she taught that we should conduct our life like Sita and Rama.
Then Damayanti: Damayanti was a greatly chaste wife. Though her determination she also fostered the virtues of her husband and she regained the kingdom (for him).
However, in those days women with those kinds of virtues fostered the kingdom, looked after the children and thus earned so many kinds of great titles. We should earn such great names. A good name should be earned. Though we don’t have jobs, without money it will go. Having virtues gives more happiness than the happiness of possessing money.

STRENGTH, MONEY AND FRIENDSHIP
Students of today are striving for these three: strength, virtue (money) and friendship. However, there may be money. There may be friends. There may be strength. However, what is the use without virtues? Whether men or women, virtues are essential. A life without virtues is a life without strength. Hence, the men and women of those days strived for virtues. They even gave up their life striving for (a good) name and reputation.
Women strived to protect the respect of the husband, not only to protect the respect of the individual. The strength of the individual is not dependent on wealth. It is dependent upon virtues. Hence, even from those days the women of Bharath strived so much and even gave up their life for the sake of virtues. So even today we should accept many kinds of exertion for the sake of virtues.
The country fell in this type of situation due to lack of virtuous men and women in the world. So what we need today is not gold and objects. We should earn virtues. No matter how much strength there is, it is no use without virtues. If we act arrogantly thinking we have wealth, we cannot obtain even a second of peace. Therefore, virtues should be earned.
Along with these virtues, we should also protect the respect of the husband. If one doesn’t protect the respect of her husband, no matter how much virtue is obtained, it is no use.

EDUCATION IS USELESS WITHOUT VIRTUES
Embodiments of Love!
Importantly for women and men, the work that we have to do is to become virtuous people. Without virtues, no matter how much work is done and no matter how much education is studied, it is useless.

One studies so much knowledge,
gaining a lot of discrimination.
Yet still he does not know
his Self, the dull-head!
No matter how much one studies and
what style there is,
he will not give up his low qualities.
Studying again and again
leads only to argumentation;
but he can never get full wisdom.
Studying and studying all education,
why should one die?
The education that doesn’t die
(that leads to Immortality)
should be studied.
(Telugu poem)

Hence, all of the education today is only to fill the stomach (eke out a livelihood). Morality and honesty are completely in jeopardy. Respect and courtesy are set afire. Therefore, what we should acquire today is the proper reputation. In those days people crowned Dharma. They determined to follow Truth. They succeeded in life with Love.

WOMEN WHO SACRIFICED THEIR LIVES FOR TRUTH
From those days all of the women of Bharath sacrificed for the sake of Truth. Women with such lives of Truth are not seen anywhere today. There are so many women who sacrificed their lives for Truth.

Chandramati, who extinguished the flames of fire
with her power of Truth,
was a woman of Bharath, wasn’t she?
Sita, who upheld family respect by undergoing the test of fire, was a woman of Bharath, wasn’t she?
Damayanti, who burnt a wicked hunter to ashes
with the power of her chastity,
was a woman of Bharath, wasn’t she?
It is because of such chaste women of character that Bharath has attained the reputation of being
the land of plenty, prosperity and rich harvest
for illustrious women.
It is the teacher of all countries, isn't it?
(Telugu poem)

Even from ancient times this sacred land of Bharath has remained in the position of a teacher to all countries. That is this sacred land of Bharath. Therefore, this sacred land of Bharath has gained the titles of being a land of action, a land of sacrifice and a land of yoga. Actions have to be preformed. Our life cannot continue without action.
We are wasting so much time every day.

GOD IS THE EMBODIMENT OF TIME
Embodiments of Love!
It is not the right sanctity to waste time. So much of our time is being wasted. However, the ancients didn’t waste even a moment of time. Thinking that God is the embodiment of time, they worshipped time saying:

Kaalaya Namah.
Kaalakaalaaya Namah.
Kaala Pramanaya Namah.
Kaalatitaya Namah.
Kaala Swarupaya Namah.

Salutations to He who is Time.
Salutations to the Master of Time.
Salutations to He who standardizes Time.
Salutations to the One who transcends Time.
Salutations to the Embodiment of Time.
(Sanskrit sloka)

Why are we forgetting such a God who is the embodiment of time? If Sunday comes one will be joyful saying, “Abaa (Ah)! Today I will be comfortably at ease.” We should feel bad that day. “Cha (Alas)! On Sunday there is no work, how much we are giving up action!”
We are wasting time. We are not using time in the right way. When there is no other work, we should do service to society. We should strive to help others. We should sacrifice for the protection of the country. We should give any amount of support for the development of people. This is the determination of action that the people of Bharath should learn. This is mentioned even in the Bhagavad Githa:

Karman Yeva Dhikarasthe Ma Phaleshu Kadachana.

You have a right over action but not on the result.
(Sanskrit sloka)

WE SHOULD SANCTIFY ACTION
We should sanctify action. What does action mean? You think it is sinful acts and meritorious acts. It is not that. Every chaitanya that man performs is the form of action. All the actions that are done with the legs and arms of man are meritorious acts. However, the basis of these meritorious acts should be a sacred feeling. Only when the feelings are sacred, no matter what actions are done, they will seem like worship to God. Therefore, we should not waste action even for one second. Only when it is done like that, our true life will be sanctified as Truth.
A kaaya (body) was given to man. He (God) gave karma (action) to the body. He gave karana (cause) to action. He also gave kaala (time). Man should be sanctified through the unification of these three: karma, kaya and kaala. It is man’s important duty to conduct kala, karma, karana, kartyava well.
Everyone has forgotten today such a sacred culture of Bharath. How sacred the culture of Bharath is! Even from ancient times it is the culture of Bharath only that protected the land of Bharath.
What do you (P) think culture is? You think it is only a way of life. You (P) think it is a way of life. This is not a way of life. The culture of Bharath is not only an ideal to a true life (of an individual). It gives an ideal to the country. Hence, we have to use this culture in a sacred way. I am hoping (that you will do) this.
From so long numerous people are striving in numerous ways wanting to teach the culture of Bharath. However, it is taught but there is no one to listen. Even among the people who listen, there are none who practise. Even when so many people (wish to) practice, they don’t have the favourable conditions to do so.
Embodiments of Love!
We should experience every action with purity of heart. Without purity of heart, the actions that are done will all be useless. Even if a small work is done with sacred feelings, a great result will come.

LADIES DAY
Embodiments of Love!
We observe today, 19th November, as Ladies Day. What do you think Ladies Day is? You think that day is things like doing a few activities, getting to know about a few sacred things and others giving talks. No, no! We have to see that during the whole day the sacred time is not wasted. The strength we follow on this 19th should remain as an ideal throughout our life. Therefore, we should develop and protect such an ideal life.
One’s Self-confidence should be developed. No matter what kinds of difficulties come to us, we should maintain Self-respect. If there is no Self-respect, then what is the use of man existing? We should strive for Self-respect.
It doesn’t matter if there’s no money. It doesn’t matter if there is no kind of strength. Let everyone in society humiliate you, it isn't wrong. However, develop Self-respect. Lincoln succumbed to numerous kinds of difficulties for (in order to maintain) Self-respect. He succumbed to much harm for Self-respect.
His mother taught him, saying, “Son, even if there is nothing else, don’t feel bad. Even if your friends give pain to you, there is nothing wrong at all. They will do that; that is their personality. You maintain the suitable type of Self-respect.”
Because of such Self-respect, he sat under the lights on his street and studied. He studied and attained high knowledge. Finally, he became a great President to the country of America. Where was he (before)? It was through Self-respect, wasn’t it, that he was able to achieve such a position?
Therefore, there are many teachings that the mother gives. Mothers have to sacrifice so much to their sons, even their blood and their lives. What are good qualities? In order to foster good qualities, good teachings should be given to the son. What does good qualities mean? This means that he bad qualities in man should be made distant. Good behaviour, good actions and good words should be developed.

SATHYA, DHARMA, SHANTI AND PREMA
In our society these (good qualities) are said to be Sathya, Dharma, Shanti and Prema. Who is able to follow this Truth? Everyone is giving discourses and speaking of the ideals that Swami tells: Sathya, Dharma, Shanti, Prema and Ahimsa. Even one day do we speak words of Truth? Simply we are giving discourses but are we showing favourable ideals? No! There are no words of Truth spoken. There are no actions of Dharma.
From ancient times in the country of Bharath, people spoke the Truth. They practised Dharma. They did not disregard Truth in any situation.

Sathyam Naasti Paro Dharmah.

The highest Dharma is Truth.
(Sanskrit sloka)

There is nothing else higher than this for us. Truth must be spoken and Dharma should be practised. Therefore, in our books it is said:

Sathyam Vada, Dharmam Chara.

Speak Truth, act righteously.
(Sanskrit sloka)

They said to practice Dharma but they didn’t say to speak Dharma. Truth must be spoken but it is not possible to practise Truth. That which we say, do and utter (think) should all be one. The culture of Bharath says this only:

The proper study of mankind is man.

The thought that is contemplated and the utterance that comes from the tongue should both be merged in action. Today no one knows what thought comes. There is no connection at all between what is spoken and what is done with the hands. Therefore, the life of man is becoming very useless due to these unsacred actions. The life of man should be unified through words of Truth. Truth is very greatly valuable.

Sathyam Naasti Paro Dharmah.

The highest Dharma is Truth.
(Sanskrit sloka)

There is nothing higher than Truth. The tongue should utter Truth. Yet the same tongue speaks so many untruths, perjury and speaks of so many unjustified acts. It is said:

Oh tongue, the knower of taste,
That loves sweetness,
Speak Truth in a pleasing way.
Chant the sweet words,
Govinda, Damodhara, Madhava.
(Telugu poem)

This tongue is always going towards criticizing others but sacred words that give help to others are not being uttered. It is not possible to convey what will become of such a life.

THE BODY IS A WATER BUBBLE
From ancient times our Bharatiyas used to resolve that when they died, they should be born again in this country. They used to have so much abhimana (affectionate regard or pride in a good sense) to the country, abhimana to the religion and abhimana to speech. Today abhimana to the country has gone. Abhimana to Dharma has gone. Then what is it they do with abhimana? They are increasing dehabhimana (body attachment).
What is the body? It is a water bubble. How much time will you be able to protect the body which is like a water bubble? It will burst one day or other. Therefore, Atmabhimana has to be developed instead of dehabhimana.
My Atma will protect all countries. The Atma that is in everyone is also within me. The Atma that is within me is in everyone. So the happiness of the Atma is not only for you, the whole country should also be happy. So only the man who has Atmamabhimana is a true human being. The ones who waste time by giving up Atmabhimna and don’t teach the nature of human beings, are ones whose life is wasted.

A HEART OF COMPASSION
Embodiments of Love!
This 19th November is a very sacred day. Truly, you may believe it or not but the Griham Ammayi (lady of the house, i.e, Easwaramma) is the mother to this Body. She used to speak to everyone with Love.
She would come upstairs and say, “Swami, someone has come who has so much suffering. Please see them once and talk with them!” If anyone suffered (or felt bad or had pain), she couldn’t bear it. She had a heart of compassion. For that reason her name became so well known. Therefore, if a good name is to come, sacred words should be spoken. Help should be given.
I used to get so angry. I used to say, “Have you come upstairs to give this recommendation? I don’t want that, go!”
“It’s not like that Swami. Paapam (poor things)! They have so many difficulties. Just speak to them once and then send them.”
Then I Myself used to think that her mind (heart) had so much mercy and so much compassion. I used to be so happy.
It is only such a heart that we can truly call a daya hrudaya (heart of compassion). Hrut plus daya is hrudaya. The heart that has compassion is a true compassion (heart).
There isn't that compassion at all today. Harsh words come. People are losing their respected names.

Oh tongue, the knower of taste,
That loves sweetness,
(Telugu poem)

Sweet words are needed. Words that hurt anyone should not be spoken. Then only man’s life will be sanctified.

WOMEN SHOULD CONTROL THEIR MOUTH
Embodiments of Love!
Importantly, women should control their mouth. Men are going about in so many different organizations therefore, it is difficult for them to control them (their tongue). The suitable Dharma for women is to fulfil all the household (duties) and lead the family on the right path.
(Women) have to speak the ones who come to the house with respect. If anyone comes, we should give them help to the extent possible.
We are only speaking words now but not giving help. If anyone experiences difficulties (we should think), “Ayyo paapam (oh dear)! Today it has come to them (they are experiencing difficulties). Tomorrow it may happen to us. No one can escape difficulties.” So, their hearts should be pacified with ideal words.
We don’t speak any suitable words today. We are bringing out harsh words. Demonic utterances are better than this. Hence, we should no utter harsh words like this.
If we give a lot of pain to anyone’s mind, our mind will suffer double that. No result of action can be avoided. Today if someone experiences (if you hurt others), tomorrow you will experience (the same). Therefore, even when speaking, the person should be pacified with soft and sweet words. Then only we will understand a true life.
We should not just close our mouths and keep quiet, saying something like, “We said it and we gave them suffering.” This (the result of action) is inevitable. It can't be avoided someday: if not today then tomorrow. That has to be kept in sight (kept in mind). Therefore, speak so that pain is not given to the mind of anybody. The one who lives this kind of true life, will be truly fortunate.
Truly, mukthi, mukthi means, that only (not giving pain to anyone) is true mukhti. Moksha, moksha means, that is true moksha. (Moksha) is devoid of moha. That which kshaya (destroys) moha is moksha.
Regardless of the situation, we should not criticize anyone. We should not revile anyone. We should not go on searching for other’s faults. If you search for the faults of others today, tomorrow they will search for your faults.

TRUE GEMS AND ORNAMANTS
Take one small example. If you point a finger at him saying, “He is that kind of man,” it is only one finger that shows him; three fingers point to you! So it shows three of your faults! See, (Swami demonstrates with His Hand), these three point to you. We think that we are showing the faults of others but three of your faults will become evident to you. Don’t forget that; don’t forget that!

Hastasya Bhushnam Daana.
Kanthasya Bhushanam Sastram (Sathyam).

Charity is the ornament for the hands.
Sastram (Sathyam) is the ornament for the throat (neck).
(Sanskrit sloka)

Word, word of Truth. As we have been given the throat, what is the ornament for it? Not putting on a necklace. The true gems are good utterances from the throat.

Hastasya Bhushnam Daana.

Charity is the ornament for the hands.
(Sanskrit sloka)

That which performs charity is the true hand. Without a hand like that, what is the use in simply having a hand? The hand is simply useless. So every limb and all that God has given in the world, is only to sanctify them.
The eyes see. What the eyes see is such a sacred thing. Do you know how much power there is in the eye? We are wasting so much power. The eyes have 12 crores (120 million) of light (rays). What you see may be only one person. However, without you knowing, the eyes are seeing so many things.

SURYA NAMASKAAR
In the past, the ones who did Surya Namaskaar, they used to pray to the sun with some sounds. It is enough to do one namaskaar saying:

Suryaya Namah.

Obeisances to the Sun.
(Sanskrit sloka)

When you do namaskaar to the sun (or sun god), you will get so much good results. Through the grace of the sun, the light in your eyes will be very radiant. Similarly, if we see other’s faults, our eyes will become blind.
So every limb that is bestowed by God should be sanctified. If one wants to sanctify them, the power is only in us but it won't come from somewhere outside.

ADRISHTAM IS NOT SEEN
Embodiments of Love!
We may think something like all of these are easy in daily life. Moksha is in that which is easy. You are greatly fortunate therefore you were given eyes and you are able to see so much. It is said that, that only is adrishtam (good luck or good fortune).
What is adrishtam? Not having prapti (result of action from previous lives) A-drushtam, a-drishtam, meaning, that which is not drishtam (seen) is adrishtam. Hence, we can’t see anything. Though it is not seen, it gives us suffering. That only is adrishtam.
What kind of fortune? It gives us comfort and joy though we can’t see it. The result (of actions) that you can see gives so many joys that you cannot see. That is true adrishtam. You think that, “It is my adrishtam, I have everything, everything has come to me.” That is not adrishtam. All that is seen is not all adrishtam. What cannot be seen is adrishtam. A-drushtam, a-drushtam, a-drushtam, meaning that which cannot be seen is adrishtam. Therefore, there are so many things which we cannot see, though they accompany us.

THE WEALTH OF VIJNANA
Embodiments of Love!
The land of Bharath is so great. This land of Bharath is giving you so much wealth. It doesn’t only give only a rupee note. Great wealth: that is the wealth of vijnana. That only is the wealth of prajana. That only is sacred wealth. That is the wealth of sujnana. The Bhagavatham came maintaining so much of such wealth.
Wherever one goes in the country, this adrishtam accompanies one. It gives it into your hands. However, the one who is unfortunate is not accepting it into his hand. We should not be so hard (harsh). Ours is the life of human beings.
In the Upanishads ‘manava’ means one who has a great name. The meaning (of manava) in the Upanishads is the one who has great shakthi. Another meaning is a greatly sacred one. A meaning is one who teaches great jnana. The meaning is one who gives vijnana. Therefore, the Upanishads told of so many meanings.
Therefore, you (P) don’t know the meaning all of these very small words and we are doing so many wrong actions. Whether adrishtam (good luck) or duradhrishtam (bad luck), whether good or bad, they accompany us. However, we are doing things without knowing that. Again someday that (our actions) will give the result to us. When one experiences the results, you are complaining, saying, “Ayyo (oh dear)! What sin did I do, what sin did I do?” What is the use of complaining? You should be careful in the first place. You should see that those difficulties do not arise.
All is God's Grace, which is your witness. God's sankalpa earns you great keerthi (good reputation or fame). So earn such keerthi, make it steady, and sanctify a true life.
From today, no matter what work is done, do it with the feeling of, “This is Bhagavat prityatam, Bhagavat prityatam (offered for the pleasure of God).” Then only true life will be obtained.
Today the wealth that we (should) earn is not money, gold, objects and vehicles (meaning worldly wealth, possessions and comforts). Sujnana, vijnana and prajnana, which accompanies us, is our (true) wealth, gold, objects and vehicles. We should earn such eternal and true wealth. Only when we earn such wealth, the true strength of God will be with us.

THE UPANISHADS ARE NEAR US
Embodiments of Love!
So many people were waiting a lot for today, the 19th. To have such a sacred feeling is a great adrishtam. Give up the bad feelings that were there before. We should develop uttama (excellent, best or highest) feelings. We should consider an uttama life as an ideal.
We should use the sentences in the Upanishads as sacred words. The Upanishads demonstrates sanctity to man. So, all of the Upanishads taught jnana. All of the Vedas are only words or manthras. The Vedas taught all things like the secular Purusha Sukta and Sri Suktha. No matter how many Vedas are learnt, if you don’t know the Upanishads, all will become useless. Therefore, only after all of the Vedas are completed, people begin (to learn) the Upanishads. What is the significance of the Upanishads?

Upasamipena Nakshedasye Manet Upanishat.

‘Upanishad’ means ‘sitting near’ (God).
(Sanskrit sloka)

This means that the Upanishads are near us and gives us appropriate strength. Therefore, hoping that you should earn such true shakthi, I am blessing and ending my long discourse.

Bhagavan ended His Divine Discourse by chanting the bhajan, ‘Bhajana Bina Sukha Shanthi Nahi…’
